Empactful has known Clutch’s CEO for 12 years since his last CEO role (Portico Systems) – successfully sold to McKesson. Through its market work, leading health plans approached Empactful around access to consumer centric member engagement platforms to support their Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Exchange/Consumer plans’ member retention and engagement initiatives.
Since 2019, Clutch engaged Empactful to develop its overall growth plan and healthcare market entry / related growth strategy. Empactful Capital has participated in multiple interim financings in preparation for the Company’s Series C growth round and recently joined the Company’s Board after serving in a Board Observer role.
There are over 900 clients using Clutch’s platform in 19 countries via strategic partnerships with NCR, Salesforce.com and FiServ and a direct sales model. The onset of COVID in 2020 had an impact on the Company’s growth plan and delayed the market entry, focused plan for the healthcare market. As business conditions improved in 2021, the Company has again realized meaningful growth and is revisiting the healthcare market expansion in early 2022. Empactful is leading those efforts with the Company’s CEO.
Clutch is delivering a significant impact for clients and allowing their programs to engage their customers in a “consumer-friendly”way. 78% of consumers expect personalized experiences and only 16% of companies can meet those expectations (major challenge for healthcare services companies). Further, studies have shown consumer engagement drives revenues - a 5% increase in retention can drive 95% more profits.
